The Advantages of uPVC Double Glazed Windows

You should be aware of the advantages of double glazing if you’re looking for a double glazing quotation. Double-glazed windows are designed to keep heat from escaping from houses and buildings. When compared to single-glazed units, double-glazed units provide twice the insulation.

Double Glazing

The use of two panes of glass (separated by an air layer) in a residential window is known as double glazing. This gives your home an extra layer of insulation, limiting heat loss via the windows. Previously, windows had a single pane of glass inserted, which has shown to be a highly efficient heat conductor.

Adding a second pane of glass with a sealed pocket of air (or gas) in the centre drastically minimises heat loss via windows, according to continuing research. Because double-glazed windows were not required in new residences until 2007, many New Zealand homes still have inefficient single-pane windows.

uPVC

Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) is a high-strength, low-maintenance yet lightweight plastic construction material. It has gained appeal in the home renovation industry as an alternative to painted timber because of its several benefits, including resistance to chemicals, sunlight, and oxidation from water.

It is ideal for double-glazed windows and doors since it is low-cost and low-maintenance. Roofline goods constructed of uPVC include downpipes, guttering, and fascia.

Advantages

The type of glass used in double glazing systems may make a big difference. The most energy-efficient is Low-E (Low Emissivity). A very undetectable Metal Oxide layer reflects heat from the glass. This is an optional upgrade for your uPVC windows! Double glazing with a uPVC frame makes sense if you want to keep your house warm, healthy, and modern. Eco Doors and Windows should be your first choice if you need to renovate your home.
